New Arts was invited to Parallel Vienna 2021, one of Austria’s most boundary-pushing contemporary art presentations. Parallel is a unique hybrid of art fair, exhibition platform, and artist studio. Site-specific artworks and interventions are Parallel’s trademark, and offer an alternative to the white cube format. The 2021 edition took place in a vacant hospital, the former Semmelweisklinik in the 18th district, and featured artists including Hermann Nitsch, Erwin Wurm, and Martin Grandits.
